WANTED: Development and Special Events Intern

Job Description

The Development and Special Events Intern will be an integral part of the planning and execution of all JDRF events, including the Walk to Cure Diabetes, Hope For The Holidays Gala, Deal for a Cure, The One Party, Toast the Cure and additional fundraising and outreach events. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to; event day logistics, silent auction item procurement, sponsorship fulfillment, event web-site content management, creating PowerPoint presentations, donor stewardship, sneaker sales campaigns and all other aspects included in fundraising and event planning.

Job Requirements
All applicants must have a strong desire to work in event planning and fundraising for a nonprofit organization. In addition, applicants must have strong organizational and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to manage multiple projects. Required computer skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred. Depending on event calendar, applicant must be able to work some nights and weekends, including October 25-26, 2014.
