Northern California Players Charities To Host “Pre Father’s Day White Party” Benefiting JDRF

Douglas Hollie, Former NFL Player

Pre Father’s Day White Party to take place on June 9, 2018 in Pleasanton, CA.

The Northern California Players Charities is a group of current and former professional athletes who have come together to create one team to enhance and improve lives in their communities. The organization partners with nonprofits from Fresno to Tahoe to help them achieve their goals. When it was time to plan a spring event, former Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle and Chairman of the Former Players Chapter, Douglas Hollie, knew he wanted to support JDRF.

Douglas stopped by our San Francisco office to talk to us about why our cause means so much to him. “We have type 1 diabetes in my family,” he said. “My great-great grandmother lived with it, my mother had it until she passed away while on dialysis, and my nephew was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in his sophomore year of high school.” Many of his former NFL buddies are also personally touched by type 1 diabetes.

Douglas envisioned an event that would honor fathers in a celebratory atmosphere. He brainstormed with his chapter and the Pre Father’s Day White Party was organize. “We expect a large turn-out. Barone’s is a great outdoor venue and we have an all-star live band lined up. It’s going to be a great time!” said Douglas. Everyone is encouraged to wear all white. He hopes to get other Players Charities Chapters around the country focused on JDRF for their own fundraising events. Click here to purchase tickets and see the flyer below for more information:
