Cocoa Beach JDRF One Walk – Details for Saturday

We are so excited to see everyone in just a few days!  This post contains important information you will need to know for Walk Day.

The Cocoa Beach One Walk is taking place at Lori Wilson Park
1500 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, FL 32931
Please note that the walk will actually take place on the beach so wear preferred shoes and notice for strollers.

Schedule of Events

8:00 am Registration/Check In Opens & Entertainment Begins
Enjoy coffee, hot cocoa, and Munchkins from Dunkin’ Donuts

9:00 am Opening program begins on stage with Wingnut from KISS 95.1

9:30 am Walk Begins with Ribbon Cutting at Start/Finish Line

10:30 am Enjoy snacks from Jersey Mike’s and music

11:00 am T Shirt Contest Winners & Walk Totals 

Parking can be found at Lori Wilson Park, Tulip Lane, and Cape Royal Condos.

NO PETS will be permitted at the Walk.

The Walk will take place rain or shine.

All food carb counts will be provided on site.

Team Photos
Team Captains: team photo times are available from 8:15-9:20am (pre-walk) and 10:35-11:30am (post-walk) and fill up quickly.  Time slots are every 5 minutes in the windows.  To schedule your team’s photo please email Casey Barnhardt.

TrialNet
TrialNet will be doing screenings at the One Walk as well from 8:00am-Noon. Participating involves a simple blood test that could detect risk up to ten years before symptoms appear. Those that test at increased risk may be eligible to participate in a prevention trial or ongoing monitoring. Screening is offered at no cost to relatives. Anyone between the ages of 1 and 45 with a parent, sibling, or child with type 1 diabetes or anyone between the ages of 1 and 20 with a cousin, niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, half-sibling or grandparent with type 1 diabetes may be eligible  to participate.
