I Can't Cook, But I Know Someone Who Can is a tell-all collaboration between 25 of Charlotte's best chefs with JDRF Board member and host of NewsTalk 1110 WBT Stacey Simms. The chefs provide wonderful recipes and Simms shares stories of her many kitchen disasters. The book also includes a forward from Carolina Panthers Coach and JDRF supporter John Fox. All proceeds from the cookbook will benefit the JDRF Charlotte Chapter. Simms' three-year-old son, Benny, was diagnosed with type 1 just before he turned two. To learn more, or to purchase a cookbook, go to www.staceysimms.com. Stacey also writes a monthly blog, often including topics about dealing with her son's diabetes. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation chapters in North Carolina are ready to take your order for the new JDRF license plate. For each license plate sold, JDRF will receive $10.00!
Before the DMV will authorize the first plate to be produced, 300 applications with payment must be received. North Carolina has received 166 applications so far. All applications should be sent to JDRF's Triangle/Eastern NC Chapter. The license plate will cost $20 for a regular JDRF plate or $50 for a personalized JDRF plate. This fee is in addition to the annual vehicle license plate fee.
By purchasing a JDRF license plate, you will help support research to find a cure for diabetes. Show your support for JDRF as you ride down the road. To apply for a JDRF license plate, CLICK HERE.
