The Delaware community rallied together in support of families living with type 1 diabetes at the annual JDRF One Walk at Rockford Park in Wilmington on October 22 and at Silver Lake Park in Dover on November 4.
The walks welcomed more than 3,000 attendees on beautiful autumn days. The event featured kid’s activities, moon bounces, entertainment and scenic walks in two of Delaware’s State Parks. The local events are expected to raise $415,000 for diabetes research. Together, walkers, teams and community partners demonstrated their passion to change the future of diabetes by raising essential funds for JDRF research. Thank you to Paoloipix and Diane Bottomley for capturing the beautiful images of the Wilmington Walk and to Jess Cook for her lovely photographs of the Dover Walk. Thank you to all of our families, corporate partners, vendors and volunteers who made this year’s One Walk a success. JDRF Delaware Chapter is so close to the fundraising goal of $415,000! Please help us reach our goal by continuing to send in your donations and by reminding your friends and family during National Diabetes Awareness Month how important it is to support T1D research. You may also vote for your favorite Team t-shirt on the JDRF Facebook page beginning on Monday, November 14. If you would like to enter your t-shirt into the contest, please send a photo of the front and back to firstname.lastname@example.org.
