Take action for the entire T1D community
As the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, JDRF has played a crucial role in nearly every major T1D breakthrough in history.
No organization does more to improve everyday life with T1D—from therapy development and access, to expanding research, advocacy, and community support. JDRF One Walk is the world’s largest fundraising and community-building event for the T1D community. By joining JDRF One Walk, you will help us create a movement to improve and change life with type 1 diabetes, advancing life-changing breakthroughs on the way to cures.
T1D is an autoimmune disease that is diagnosed in both children and adults and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. Managing T1D requires constant attention and action—including overnight. Even with a strict regimen, people with T1D can still experience dangerously high or low blood sugar that can lead to complications and, in extreme cases, be life-threatening.
Your contribution to the JDRF One Walk, Piedmont Triad 2024 charts a path to cure, prevent, and better treat type 1 diabetes and its complications—and ensure access to treatments globally.
Register today for the JDRF One Walk, Piedmont Triad 2024 and join us in taking action for the entire T1D community.

Option 1: Triad Park Schedule of Events
Come out to Triad Park—bring a pop-up tent and a picnic brunch—and take advantage of a beautiful fall day! (We have access to several playgrounds and have reserved two huge shelters with plenty of picnic tables.)
We walk rain or shine!
Vendors will be available throughout the morning near the Amphitheater. While you are there, be sure to visit our volunteers at the New Family Welcome Area, Youth Ambassador table, Advocacy table and more.
All walkers with T1D will receive a special giveaway and all V1Ps-our top individual fundraisers-will receive a commemorative lanyard, voucher and more, at check-in. Check the "Rewards..." tab frequently to see what you can earn for being a Top Team!
Food and drinks will be available for purchase, as well as complimentary grab-and-go snacks and waters will also be provided while supplies last.
There will be plenty of fun for everyone throughout the park, including games, Facepainting, a history hunt, and more! If you, or a group you are a part of would be interested in the opportunity to perform on Walk day, please email Eleanor Schaffner-Mosh at eschaffner-mosh@jdrf.org. Past performances have ranged from martial arts to dance to musicians. We want to see the full talent of our community represented!
