The South Sound OneWalk community came out in full force on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Chambers Creek Regional Park to help JDRF turn type one into type none! The community has raised over $126,000 and counting to help better treat, prevent, and cure type one diabetes. Presenting sponsor DaVita continued their 22 year tradition as one of the largest corporate teams while family team Megan’s Team raised an astounding $20,000! Thank you to 2018 South Sound OneWalk sponsors DaVita, Omnipod, Dexcom, Lilly, Medtronic, Multicare Health System, Sanofi, and the Bamford Foundation as well as our 50 family teams and 8 corporate teams for making this an outstanding experience for the community.

Blitz from the Seahawks and Rhubarb the Reindeer with the Tacoma Rainiers made special appearances to cheer on the walkers. Thank you to our generous in-kind donors Talking Rain, KindBars, Tim’s Cascade Chips, and Tacoma Boys for providing food and beverages for the walk this year.  This year’s walk included family activities including face painting, balloon art, carnival games, and a bouncy house.
