Event Details for the 2016 JDRF Promise Ball

 

We look forward to welcoming you to the JDRF Promise Ball “Into the Blue” on Saturday April 30 at the Hilton Americas – Houston. Set to raise over $1.5 million for type 1 diabetes research, this very special evening will feature fabulous auction items, delicious food and drink, live entertainment and the opportunity to help JDRF move closer to creating a world without type 1 diabetes. Parking: Complimentary parking for all Promise Ball guests is provided by JDRF. This will ensure a smooth arrival and expedite guest check-in.

Auction Bidding: We are pleased to offer guests the opportunity to bid on our fabulous Silent Auction with BidPal technology on their own smart phones and the opportunity to bid directly from your smart phone all night – so remember to bring your fully charged smartphone!

Guests who provide their cell phone number in advance will receive a text message on Friday, April 29 and can start bidding on the Silent Auction items before the doors even open!

To expedite your check-in process, please provide your cellphone number in advance of the event. If we do not yet have your cell phone number, please call our office at 713-334-4400 or email it to Teustace@jdrf.org.

FUND A CURE

Fund A Cure is the unique opportunity for you to change the lives of individuals living with type 1 diabetes. After the Live Auction, when the ballroom is stilled with a story of hope and inspiration, you will be asked to Fund A Cure. This is your chance to make a donation that goes 100% directly to research, is 100% tax deductible, and will fund the science to make medical history.  If you are unable to join us at the Promise Ball, but still with to make a Fund A Cure donation you can do so by reaching out to the JDRF Houston Chapter at 713.334.4400.

DON’T FORGET TO CHARGE YOUR CELL PHONES FULLY prior to the event. We do have a limited number of bidding devices that we are happy to lend any guest who does not have a smart phone.

Auction Item Pick-Up: Auction item pickup will begin at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday evening and close down at 12:15 a.m.. We kindly ask that guests pickup all auction items the evening of the event. If you are unable to transport your items that night, you can pick them up at the JDRF office Tuesday, May 3 – Friday May 6 between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
