This group is for any family member who has a loved one with type 1 diabetes. There will be monthly meetings, guest speakers, and planned family events. Meetings are usually the first Monday of the month, but vary sometimes due to activity scheduling and speaker availability. Meetings have been held in the Carbondale-Herrin-Marion area of Southern Illinois. Mid-Missouri Family Support Group in Columbia, MO:
This group has quarterly family get-togethers/activities on Saturday or Sunday
afternoons, and connections with friends to talk/meet with as needed. Families come from as far as Kirksville and St. Robert to participate. Diabetic Corner for children and families — Oakville, MO:
Diabetic Corner is a support group for students and their families. This group meets once a month to listen to guest speakers, to have informative discussions, and to learn and teach each other about our own experiences with diabetes. Every month is new and different, filled with fun and prizes. The group meets in the evenings at Oakville High School (5557 Milburn Rd. in Oakville, MO). DIVA Diabetics is a mentoring/support group for adult women (18+) with type 1 diabetes.
