Special thanks to the more than 380 guests, 100 volunteers, 30 youth ambassadors, and special guests, Elliott Yamin, Ashley Crossman, Miss Virginia United States 2008, Event Emcees Jack and Jen with Mix 103.7, and auctioneer Mark Motley, who joined together on Saturday, April 4, 2009 for a true LOVE STORY, a selfless evening benefiting diabetes research and focused on one thing...a cure for type 1 diabetes. More than $391,000 was raised toward this goal as companies and individuals opened their hearts and their wallets to move their loved ones closer to a world without diabetes.

3/7/09--Breaking and Fabulous News!! As of late yesterday afternoon, our 2008 Richmond Walk to Cure Diabetes is up to $510,567.85....and still going with Kids Walk revenue to come in over the next few months!! Congratulations to all of you and our Chapter for the FIRST TIME EVER breaking the half a million dollar marker (and then some!!) for an event. Let's keep the momentum moving forward!
Thank you all for being a part of such a fun, inspiring, and truly impactful event...We ARE making a true difference in the lives of many, to JDRF, and helping to keep crucial research moving forward to get us to a cure. Thank you!
