Last September, Stacey Simms came out with her new book, "I Can't Cook, but I know Someone Who Can." This fun Charlotte cookbook, with some of the best chefs in town contributing recipes includes Stacey sharing her own kitchen disaster stories. The point of the project was to raise money and awareness for JDRF.
At our Harris Teeter Golf Classic on June 8th, Stacey made her first donation from book sales in the amount of $10,000!!!
Stacey says she hopes to make another donation this fall...so book sales continue! This is a great gift for weddings, showers, and graduations. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation chapters in North Carolina are ready to take your order for the new JDRF license plate. For each license plate sold, JDRF will receive $10.00!
Before the DMV will authorize the first plate to be produced, 300 applications with payment must be received. North Carolina has received 166 applications so far. All applications should be sent to JDRF's Triangle/Eastern NC Chapter. The license plate will cost $20 for a regular JDRF plate or $50 for a personalized JDRF plate. This fee is in addition to the annual vehicle license plate fee.
