Held in odd-numbered years, JDRF's Children's Congress brings more than 150 children with Type 1 diabetes and their families to Washington, D.C. Children's Congress participants represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia. They meet with Members of Congress and other key federal decision-makers to help educate them about the critical need for federal funding for type 1 diabetes research. There is HELP in your community. BAG OF HOPE contains a variety of educational and comforting support materials - some geared to the child and some geared to their caregivers - the most popular of which is Rufus, the bear with diabetes, but also includes a support video, children's books, and an Accu-Check Blood Glucose Meter. | |

JDRF KIDS ONLINE: Gives kids great ideas and strategies on how to talk about diabetes with their friends and teachers, make good food and exercise choices, and information on checking blood sugars and taking insulin. Also, pen pal with other children living with diabetes. |
