MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA and the lives of so many...

JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a disease which strikes children suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin daily or a continuous infusion of insulin through a pump. Insulin, however, is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.

Since its founding, JDRF has funded more than $1.4 billion in research toward our mission: to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complication. In FY 2009, JDRF funded more than $100 million in science in 22 countries worldwide, including more than 40 human clinical trials.

This totals $4.2 million for Juvenile Diabetes research! All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Please visit http://www.zipthecure.com/, or join our Facebook group, Zip the Cure. The campaign started November 14, 2009 and will run through May 31, 1010. As every zip code is sold the map on will change the color of the zip code area from yellow to green.
