Welcome to the
Northwest Arkansas Branch!
The Northwest Arkansas Branch of JDRF was started in 2000 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes to provide support for children and adults with the disease and their families. Volunteers, along with the support of JDRF planned and held the first Northwest Arkansas Walk to Cure Diabetes which raised $130,000. In 2010, JDRF Northwest Arkansas partnered with the JDRF Tulsa Chapter to become a unit. The two offices now raise over $2 million annually for type 1 diabetes research.
The Northwest Arkansas Branch holds two major fundraising events each year: the Walk to Cure Diabetes and the Hope Gala. The Tulsa Green Country Chapter and the Northwest Arkansas Branch also work on projects involving government advocacy to increase funding for type 1 diabetes research and local projects involving diabetes education and outreach to the diabetes community.
With an active Board of Directors and staff in both locations, we also offer local programs to support newly diagnosed individuals and their families. Providing the community with the most up-to-date research information, JDRF is hopeful and determined that a cure is on the way. Please join us in finding a cure.
