JDRF greeting cards

Design a JDRF Greeting Card

Each year, JDRF sells sets of greeting cards made by kids and teens with diabetes and their family members. These cards give young artists a chance to help make people

more aware about diabetes, and to raise money for research to find a cure.

JDRF is now inviting all budding artists to send in their designs for its 2009 cards. Up to 15 winning designs will be made into cards for the JDRF 2008 Holiday Card Collection. Cash prizes of $50 will be awarded to the artists whose Holiday Card designs are chosen. This year's deadline to enter is March 31, 2009. (Non-Holiday Notecard submissions will be accepted for the Notecard category but are not eligible for cash prizes.)

Who can enter?
Anyone!  However, kids and teens who have type 1 (juvenile) diabetes, or who would like to dedicate their artwork to their brother or sister who has type 1 diabetes, will be given priority.

What to create
Anything that means "celebrate" to you, all year 'round--from snowflakes to birthday cakes.

How to create
You can use almost any material, such as paint, markers, felt, pastels, and oil on canvas. It just has to be all your own creation.

*   Not recommended: #2 or colored pencil (does not show up well)
*   Recommended: Paints, bold/bright colors, artboard versus plain paper

Check out the ARTWORK GUIDELINES.

How to enter
Entries must be received by March 31, 2009.  (If you miss the 2009 Holiday Card Contest deadline, you can still help JDRF by sending in your designs--they might be picked for other kinds of cards and gifts.)

Mail to:   JDRF Greeting Cards
              c/o MoreThanCards.com
              PO Box 19424

Entries must include artist's name, age, age at diagnosis (or, if a family member, information on both the artist and the child with type 1 diabetes), address, phone number, and e-mail (very important).
