2010 Los Angeles Walk To Cure Diabetes

The Annual Los Angeles Walk to Cure Diabetes will return to Dodger Stadium on Sunday, November 7, 2010. It is a fun, family-oriented event that you won't want to miss and it is a day of hope and inspiration for our kids living with Type 1 diabetes. Kid's Corner Entertainment features rock climbing walls, a giant obstacle course, basketball hoops, and a stage with children's performers. In the past, our special guests have included Nick Jonas, Elliott Yamin, Mary McCormack, Dorian Gregory, Leeza Gibbons and Sugar Ray Leonard.

The Goal
As always, the first step to a successful Walk is to set a goal. Last year's Walk raised more than $1.6 million dollars for diabetes research, and this year we hope to break our previous record and raise a minimum of $2 million dollars!  We encourage each walker to raise a minimum of $100. All walkers raising pledges in excess of $200 qualify for additional prizes.

Event Details
On Walk Day, participants gather at historic Dodger Stadium for a morning of meeting and reconnecting with friends and family. Walkers can enjoy the many entertainment festivities and walk around the JDRF Walk Village. Registration begins at 8:00 am, with opening ceremonies beginning promptly at 10:00 am. The 5-kilometer route begins right outside the field of Dodger Stadium and ends with a lap around the inside of Dodger Stadium. With a leisurely pace, walkers usually finish in about 45 minutes.
