Want to Get Involved This Year?
There are many ways for corporations, families and schools to participate in the Walk to Cure Diabetes! JDRF can help you find the perfect way for you to get involved and have fun! These are just a few ways that you can make a difference:
1. Form a Corporate Team.
A Corporate Walk Team is a wonderful team-building experience for your employees. JDRF will help you structure your team and offer fundraising ideas to help your team be a success! Set goals to motivate employees to really get into the excitement of the Walk. As a Corporate Walk Team, your employees will be able to attend our exciting Walk events such as the Team Captain Kick-Off and the post-Walk Awards Ceremony. Not only will you have the satisfaction of being a part of finding a cure for juvenile diabetes, a Corporate Walk Team is also a great way to generate positive public support for your company.
2. Form a Family Team.
Our Family Teams are crucial to the success of the Walk to Cure Diabetes; in fact, they are the fastest financially growing area of the Walk. This is a great way to spend time with your family and friends and support a great cause. Gather all of your friends to be a part of your team. Have fun with it; create a team name, make t-shirts, set your fundraising goals and reach for the stars! JDRF staff and veteran family teams are here to answer your questions and provide you with ideas on how to make the most of your experience.
3. Form a School Team.
Get your school involved in finding a cure for juvenile diabetes! JDRF has curriculum teachers can use in the classroom teaching healthy living. Combine the curriculum with a fundraising activity and students will learn the importance of helping another student living with diabetes. JDRF will provide you with information to share with your school including various fundraising ideas that are easy, fun and successful. Some popular ideas in the past have been Dimes for Diabetes, Sneaker Sales, Caps for a Cure and Jeans Day.
4. Sneaker Sales
Sneaker Sales are a great way for your business or organization to raise money for the Walk. JDRF will provide you with paper icon sneakers in four colors: red, blue, green and yellow. All you have to do is sell them in your place of business for only $1.00 each. You will be amazed at how many sneakers you sell! Offer incentives to your top sneaker-selling employees to really motivate and boost the sales!
5. Corporate Partnership
JDRF has numerous partnership opportunities available to fit your specific needs. We offer five levels of sponsorships, each offering a variety of benefits for your corporation. Sponsoring the Walk is a fantastic way to get involved with the community and have a lot of fun while enhancing your public support.
6. Volunteers
We need your talent and skills. Volunteers are needed for pre and post Walk activities and also for Walk Day. We are looking for enthusiastic people to help with anything from assembling packets and making phone calls to data entry and accounting. We have jobs for everyone and will work with your schedule. This is a great opportunity for students to earn community service hours and for anyone interested to support a great cause.
