JDRF and Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) are joining forces to help raise awareness and funds for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research through the "Our Everyday Heroes" race car design contest for JDRF. The winning design will be painted onto the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang Funny Car driven by Bob Tasca III. To date, the contest has raised over $250,000 for the cause. For the first time, the contest has a patriotic theme and the winner will receive the Fourth of July trip of a lifetime, to the NHRA Full Throttle Series in Norwalk, Ohio, where the young winner and his/her family will meet Tasca and serve as honorary crew members for the car that will display their patriotic paint scheme.
JDRF children with type 1 Diabetes, ages 5-18, from across the country have entered their own unique designs in this contest. These winning designs are featured below. VOTE NOW THROUGH MAY 28th on your favorite design below by making a monetary donation to JDRF. Each donation made will be credited toward the child's JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Family Team. The top ten donation-earning designs will then be narrowed down to one. The winning design will be selected by a committee including representatives from FCSD, Bob Tasca III and members of the media.
