Join JDRF LA for an educational and networking conference for adults and children with type 1 diabetes (T1D), their families, and the clinical/school community to increase understanding, T1D knowledge, share best practices, and communicate with others in the field about the disease. This event is an all-day informational symposium with multiple breakout sessions for individuals, friends and family at all stages and ages of T1D.
Derek Rapp is President and Chief Executive Officer of JDRF. Prior to his appointment in 2014, Derek served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for JDRF International and was formally JDRF Research Chair. He has been involved in the research funding and oversight activities of JDRF since 2005. Derek’s son Turner, 21, was diagnosed with T1D in 2004.
The day includes sessions specifically designed for elementary, tweens and teens as well as an afternoon skating party. Vendors will be on hand exhibiting all the latest tools for T1D management and wellness.
