About Ride To Cure

The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes is a charitable bike ride that to date has raised more than $30 million for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

The JDRF Ride isn’t just a bike ride: it’s where hundreds of riders of all ages and skill levels come together from all over the world to make new friendships, experience the unparalleled comradery of the Ride community and raise money to find a cure for T1D.

Visit ride.jdrf.org for more info about locations, dates and fundraising!

Join the JDRF Ride Community

When you register, you’ll become a part of the JDRF Ride family, a community of all ages who return year after year to come together, inspire each other and raise money to fund critical T1D research.

In addition to the comradery, registered riders receive a JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes jersey made by Hincapie Sportswear. Any T1D Rider will have the option to receive a special T1D version of this jersey instead, to inspire us all as you cross the finish line.

Pick a premier Ride event

There are six 2018 Rides to Cure Diabetes events across the country. The Rides, which occur August through November, each offer a unique and unforgettable experience.

  • La Crosse, WI: August 9-12

Nestled between the bluffs of Wisconsin and the Mississippi River, riders will navigate a course that starts in La Crosse and crosses three states, two bridges and one mighty river. The relatively flat route makes this one of our most family-friendly rides that’s also perfect for beginners. And, the scenic views and charm of downtown La Crosse make it memorable for all.

  • Loveland, CO: August 23-26JDRF’s Ride-to-Cure event in Loveland, CO was a huge success. A dozen riders from our Los Angeles team enjoyed the beautiful Colorado scenery as they rode alongside over 400 other JDRF riders to raise approximately $1,900,000 for T1D research. Scott Morris, Ride Coach
  • Saratoga Springs, NY: September 13-16I found the whole weekend experience to be wonderful.  Saratoga is a very interesting town and I wish I could have spent more time there.  I found the ride itself to be very picturesque and engaging.  I felt that JDRF did a good job making us all feel valued and they were very organized. Paul Shapiro, Team Member
  • Amelia Island, FL: October 4-7Amelia Island is a beautiful destination where riders stay in a very nice oceanfront hotel and ride a course that features ocean views and trees draped in Spanish moss.  Amelia offers a relatively flat course of varying lengths with little traffic that — weather permitting — should be the easiest course among the JDRF ride courses. It attracts many new riders as well as experienced ones seeking to experience riding on an island. Laura Mecoy, Team Member
  • Death Valley, CA: October 18-21A returning ride celebrating its 20th anniversary. With rolling hills and steep mountains, Death Valley is also famous for Badwater, which is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. Whether you’re a competitive cyclist, Sunday rider or novice, you’re sure to enjoy an incredible weekend—and the haunting beauty—that brings JDRF Riders back year after year to cycle up to 100 miles. Sure to sell out quickly! Be ready at your computers at 9AM.
  • Santa Fe, NM: November 1-4
The newest JDRF Ride includes multiple routes up to 100 miles through moderately hilly, scenic terrain. With lodging options located within walking distance of the Santa Fe Historic Plaza, you can enjoy the world-renowned cuisine, art galleries and markets in your downtime. This Ride is sure to leave a lasting impression long after you’ve crossed the finish line!
