Type 1 Talk Broadcast Details

Type 1 Talk is almost here!  Sunday is World Diabetes Day and JDRF’s first ever live Type 1 Talk USTREAM broadcast.  I’ve received lots of questions about the broadcast, so I wanted to highlight some important details for those of you who are planning to log on and watch.

  1. The broadcast starts at 3pm Eastern time on Sunday, 11/14.  You can access it by going to http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jdrf-advocacy.  If you are unable to access the online broadcast, you can listen on the phone by calling toll-free 866-371-3788 and entering conference ID# 24733008.  International callers, dial 706-643-6855.
  2. You don’t have to be on Facebook or attend a Type 1 Talk event to be able to watch the USTREAM broadcast.  Anybody is welcome to log on, watch, and submit questions at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jdrf-advocacy.
  3. If you plan on submitting questions during the program, you’ll have 5 ways of doing so.
    • USTREAM chat: you’ll need to create a username and password
    • Type 1 Talk Facebook page:  just post on our wall
    • Twitter: send us a tweet @JDRFAdvocacy and use #T1talk so we can find it
    • Text Message: text your question to 37420
    • Phone: for those of you listening on the phone, you’ll be able to submit a question to the operator by pressing *1
  4. Make sure you have your cell phone handy during the broadcast.  We’ll have a mobile opportunity toward the end of the program.
  5. Take pictures and/or video of your event and then upload to our Type 1 Talk Facebook page.  We’d love to see how your event turned out!
  6. If you are hosting an event, but did not post it on Facebook, please let us know by emailing me at advocacy@jdrf.org.

I cannot thank you enough for supporting us throughout this entire process.  I hope that you will join us for this exciting broadcast on Sunday.  Let us know below if you plan on joining us and what you are most looking forward to!
