Climbing 19,341 feet for a cure

Join Matt Smith as he fundraises for JDRF and our vision of a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Matt Smith served on the JDRF Southern Nevada Chapter Board of Directors from 2011 until 2015. Matt and his wife, Kami, were recognized as the 2014 Hope Gala honorees. Under their leadership, the JDRF Southern Nevada Chapter achieved its first event raising over one million dollars.

Formerly the owner of Matt Smith Physical Therapy, Matt sold his practice to ATI in 2016. He is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Growth and Development for ATI.

While Matt and Kami have no direct connection to type 1, they have been passionate and dedicated supporters of JDRF for many years. When Matt decided to climb Kilimanjaro, he immediately thought of all the families living with type 1 diabetes and how he might incorporate a way to support them into his climbing efforts.

The 19,341 foot ascent inspired a fundraising campaign in honor of this yearā€™s Hope Gala honorees, Chuck and Claire Bowling and their $2 million dollar fundraising goal. Matt recognizes the effort it takes to host a million dollar gala, and is inspired to take that same determination into every foot of his climb on Kilimanjaro. His goal is to raise and contribute at least $19,341 towards the larger gala goal supporting type 1 diabetes research.

Please support Matt, Chuck and Claire Bowling, and JDRF by making a 100% tax-deductible donation to help get Matt to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
