Volunteer of the Month – Jeremy Anelli

in

The Southern Nevada Chapter Volunteer of the Month program is sponsored by our community partners at Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Each month we highlight one of our fabulous chapter volunteers and that volunteer receives gift cards for free meals from Raising Cane’s.

We are pleased to announce our Raising Canes Volunteer of the Month for May is Jeremy Anelli.

Jeremy is dad to Nick who diagnosed with type 1 diabetes the day before his birthday in 2016. Nick is now 12 years old and one of our Youth Ambassadors. Nick and his parents participate together in many of our events and activities throughout the year.

Our large chapter events such as the JDRF One Walk and the Hope Gala require over 100 volunteers to be successful. Jeremy fulfills a unique and necessary role in the set up for our events by helping us pack and load all the supplies from our office and storage unit for transportation to our event sites. He also volunteers his time after the events to help us transport everything back to where it belongs.

Helping with loading and unloading supplies is no small task! Our supplies for the JDRF One Walk occupy from floor to ceiling in our storage unit! The Hope Gala clean up continues well into the evening after the event has ended. By the time the trucks make it back to the office with our supplies, it is typically the early hours of the next day!

Jeremy, and the others who help him with loading and unloading, go largely unnoticed during our events but provide such an important service to our chapter and to everyone attending the events.

Thank you Jeremy for providing necessary manpower, supporting the community, and furthering the mission of the JDRF Southern Nevada Chapter!
