JDRF Progress to Type None Research Update

On Thursday, November 5, 2015 the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter had the pleasure of having Dr. Andrew Rakeman, JDRF Director of Discovery Research provide an update on JDRF Encapsulation and Restoration Programs.

The evening provided insight into these two Therapy Areas and a call to action for continued support in the mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications.

Here are a few simple ways to help JDRF:

  • Please share JDRF research information with others ā€”encourage them to join you in supporting JDRF by making a direct gift to research, supporting you or your family in the Walk or the Ride, getting your company to sponsor at the Walk or the JDRF Celebrity Gala.
  • Become an active volunteer with the chapter– many opportunities and ways to get involved. Reach out to find out what you can do to help. Email Julie Feest at jfeest@jdrf.org or call the JDRF office at 920-997-0038.
  • Become a JDRF Advocate— help build and sustain critical support for type 1 diabetes research funded by the Federal Government by raising awareness among Members of Congress of the financial, medical and emotional costs of the disease.

Your commitment to JDRF can help improve lives, as together; we turn Type One into Type None.
