November is Diabetes Awareness Month and we have some exciting events and promotions going on right in Northeast Wisconsin.

We are going to be featuring a different family or individual each week of November for our #TypeThankful campaign on our Facebook (JDRF Northeast Wisconsin Chapter) and Instagram pages (@jdrfnortheastwisconsin).    It will be a great way to hear different experiences, as well as maybe learn something new.  On November 28^th we invite you to participate in #GivingTuesday.  Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable giving of the Holiday Season!

Have you changed your frame yet on Facebook? It’s an easy way to promote Diabetes Awareness month. All you have to do is edit your profile picture, add frame, and search for JDRF. You have lots of options to choose from. See Gabby’s profile picture below!

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Research Spotlight on November 13^th, 2017 at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton.  The event starts at 6:00 pm and features Doug Lowenstein who will educate us on exciting T1D research developments and how YOUR support is driving discoveries to improve the lives of people with T1D.

A couple of local promotions going on that will help raise money for JDRF are with the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton and Korneli Gas Stations at its three locations in Fond-du-Lac.  The Radisson Paper Valley is giving JDRF .25 per room during the month of November!

Korneli’s will be selling paper sneakers for the month of November as well as for every ticket sold to Gobblefest on November 22nd at Korneli’s store, $1.00 will go directly to JDRF!  Also, listen for Diabetes Awareness commercials by Korneli’s on Sunny 97-7 WFDL, as well as live remotes from the Korneli’s on Main Street on Thursday November 9^th from 8-10 am as well as November 15^th from 2-4 pm.

Rock 94.7 in Wausau is doing a month long diabetes awareness promotion featuring DJ Scary Terry, fellow T1D.
