Each year, we gather as a group of committed supporters to celebrate JDRF’s most exciting achievements and raise funds for future type one diabetes (T1D) research. The annual One Party Gala is a high-profile event offering an evening of dance, music, gourmet food and fun.  It also provides an opportunity to recognize those making critical contributions to creating a world without T1D.

This year’s Gala Honoree will be Bob Poole, Dome’s second-generation partner and a print industry leader for 35 years. In recent years, Bob has taken an increasingly active role in the JDRF community, inspired by his personal experiences with T1D.  His late grandfather had T1D and he can vividly recall watching him administer daily insulin shots.  In 2013, his niece, Grace, was diagnosed T1D at the age of four.  Two years ago, Bob describes feeling humbled when his good friend and last year’s Gala Honoree, Greg Vaughn, asked him to be part of the Greg Vaughn Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting JDRF.  Since then, Dome has supported and sponsored the Greg Vaughn Celebrity Golf Tournament, as well as the One Party Gala.

The 2018 One Party Gala will take place at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 11, at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento. The black-tie optional event will feature a cocktail reception, silent and live auction, gourmet dinner, Fund A Cure presentation, and a spectacular after-party with dancing and live music from Hipper than Hip.

There are a variety of ways to support this wonderful event! One option is to attend the Gala. Tickets are $195 per person or $1,950 for a reserved table of ten. In addition, consider having your business sponsor a table. Sponsors receive special recognition prior to and at the event, as well as other benefits dependent on the level of sponsorship. Individuals or businesses may also donate goods or services to the auction, providing high-quality items that will be sold at the Gala to benefit JDRF. Another key part of the fundraiser is Fund A Cure, which collects 100% tax-deductible donations that go toward JDRF research programs.  Fund A Cure contributions can be made prior to the One Party Gala as well as on the day of the event.

Finally, the Gala would be impossible without a group of dedicated volunteers. We are incredibly grateful for the individuals that spend their time helping JDRF prepare for this memorable fundraiser.
