YLC to host Summer Yoga Series

Stress /stres/ noun 1. A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances. Stress, it’s something we all deal with on a daily basis. It can lead to elevated blood sugar levels, which in turn can result in unwanted side effects and complications. Among other mindfulness-based exercises, yoga can help reduce stress, and inspire mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

We are pleased to announce the Young Leadership Committee’s inaugural Summer Yoga Series. This summer, the JDRF YLC is embarking on a mission to promote positive physical and mental health for people with and without type 1 diabetes, all the while raising funds to treat, prevent, and cure type 1 diabetes.

The series kicks off on Thursday, June 29th with a Rooftop Yoga session! Guests will enjoy stunning views of the city, yoga class with instructor Maddy Beauregard, and post event happy hour. This will be followed in subsequent weeks by Yoga in the Park! Join T1D Health Coach, Lauren Bongorno, as she leads Wednesday classes in Central Park from 6:30-7:30pm. Dates include: 7/12, 7/26, 8/9 and 8/23. All classes are BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat!) and first come first serve placement.
