9:00AM – 10:00AM Ice Breaker, Check-in, Meet your camp counselors for the day!
10:00AM – 11:00AM Guest Speaker and Author Crystal Chilcott – Author of Gliding on Insulin, a fictional book about a T1D Figure Skater who travels the world with Type 1 Diabetes will read her book.   Campers will discuss growing up and overcoming with Type 1 Diabetes and share why “I have type 1 diabetes, type 1 diabetes doesn’t have me” with art activities.
11:15AM – 12:00PM Grace Rooney – Author of “My Sister has Type 1 Diabetes and How that Makes me Feel will read her book.   We will discuss T1D and how siblings feel.  Group games will focus on feelings and interpreting body language and non-verbal clues from one another.
12:00PM – 1:00PM Parent Pick up ALL Children for Lunch, Vendor Fair, TrialNet and ASK Screenings
1:15PM – 3:00PM
  • Team NovoNordisk Professional Athletes Clark Eckel  and Rebecca Furuta will join the Class and talk about what it takes to become a Professional Athlete with Type 1 Diabetes.  Camp will decorate posters for 100 Mile JDRF Bike Ride happening in Loveland in August.    Movie and Outside time will be optional after lunch as well.
3:00 ****All Children my be promptly picked up as soon as the last session ends!

Volunteers from the National Charity League Mothers and Daughters will be the Kids Club Counselors all morning.  Student to adult ratio is currently 4:1.   Nurses are staffed in the room from 8am-3pm.  Low Glucose kits available in Kids Club will be Fruit Snacks and Glucose Tablets.

Join individuals, families, and caregivers affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) at all life stages for a day of education and community at the annual TypeOneNation Summit.  Talk to experts about research advances, meet with other attendees to exchange ideas, and participate in discussions important to you.

In addition to allowing you to connect and learn from others in the T1D community from all over Colorado and Wyoming, the summit will also have a Teen Specific learning track (ages 13-18) as well as a Children’s Program for children ages 6-12.  We will provide a networking lunch in conjunction with a vendor fair where you’ll be able to see and test the latest in diabetes management products.
