Farewell Jamie Weissburg, Executive Director

in ,

Jamie WeissburgIt is with mixed emotions I share that my family is moving to San Diego for a wonderful new career opportunity for my husband Dan. While this is very exciting, it is very difficult to leave the JDRF community! It has been a joy and privilege to serve for the last eight years as Executive Director for the Western Wisconsin Chapter. JDRF started as my job, but has become my passion and professional home. While my last day in the office will be Friday, September 23, I will be continuing in an interim, telecommuter role during the search for the next Executive Director.

I hope you will join me on Sunday, September 18 at the JDRF One Walk Madison so that I can say goodbye in-person. This will be a wonderful way to celebrate our friendship!

The work you all do is inspiring, important, and life-changing. Until that day we turn type one into type none, know that I will be cheering for all of you and the mission of JDRF. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. All my best, Jamie Weissburg

From Jason Hunt, Western Wisconsin Chapter Board President

We feel extremely lucky to have worked with Jamie over the past eight years. During her tenure, Jamie was responsible for helping raise more than $10.5 million for the JDRF mission, and through her leadership, Chapter revenue has increased 76% since 2008. Jamie has worked hard to engage the JDRF community, strengthen volunteer/staff partnerships and ensure that the maximum amount of funds are available to our important research efforts. Jamie will be missed on both a personal and a professional level by staff and volunteers alike. We are grateful for her service to the organization and wish her the very best of luck in her future endeavors.

As we move forward, JDRF Western Wisconsin Chapter will continue to pursue the JDRF mission while working hard with JDRF leadership to fill the Executive Director role.  With significant assistance from our very experienced friends at the JDRF Great Midwest Regional office, our recruitment and search efforts will be broad in scope and solicit feedback from many sources.  Jamie has also kindly agreed to offer her help during the interim period from her new home in the San Diego area.  Thank you Jamie!
