A: JDRF is bringing together a hand-picked circle of supporters whose voices on social media and beyond will strengthen our mission to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications. JDRF Social Media Ambassadors will empower their social communities by creating momentum for bold research, advocating for better policy and providing a deeper understanding of life with T1D.

A: We think your demonstrated passion for the type 1 diabetes community makes you the perfect candidate!

Q: What are the requirements for becoming a JDRF Social Media Ambassador?

A: Being an ambassador is simple! We’re looking for passionate supporters of our work to help advocate for a world without T1D. The ideal ambassador is active on social media, demonstrates strong support for our mission and participates in JDRF events or engages with us online.

Q: How often will Ambassadors be asked to take action?

A: We will send emails with “Spread The Word” opportunities a few times a month, but it’s up to you to determine how often you want to participate!

Q: What kinds of actions will Ambassadors be asked to take?

A: We’ll share resources to help make your voice be heard as loudly as possible in your communities. This could be anything from a new report about T1D research progress to an urgent call to support government funding for cure research. We’ll give you the information you need, and even graphics, to share with your followers and friends.

We’ve created an online JDRF Social Media Ambassador Hub; a one-stop-shop for everything you will need to share the JDRF story in your own way, while helping to amplify JDRF’s impact in the T1D community. Upcoming moments for advocacy, custom shareable graphics and other opportunities for engagement can all be found on this website.

A: JDRF Social Media Ambassadors help raise awareness and drive progress towards a world without T1D. By sharing messages on social and celebrating the strides we’re making together, Ambassadors will encourage others to form a deeper commitment to turning Type One into Type None. With our shared voices, we can work together to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes.

Q: What if this isn’t for me? Are there other ways I can get involved?

A: Of course! There are many ways to get involved. Whether it’s joining one of our walks or rides, volunteering, advocating by influencing policy makers or fundraising for research, anything you do to support our mission helps to move everyone closer to a world without T1D.
