There’s more than one way to get involved with JDRF. Check out these four passionate JDRF supporters who have found their own personal way to be part of the fight for a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).

I’m the take action type because Advocacy matters. Signing action alerts, meeting with my Members of Congress and enlisting friends to join me in JDRF campaigns has made such a difference, but we have to keep it up. We have to continue taking action and advocating for the entire T1D community.” – Stefanie Sonico

“I’m the drive research forward type because of all the people who drove research forward for me. I reap the benefits of those who participated in clinical trials, from the first AP systems to surgery for diabetic retinopathy. This is my way of paying it forward to the rest of the T1D community. And along the way, I get a front-row seat into the incredible progress JDRF is making.” – Alecia Wesner

“Talking to newly diagnosed families and sharing my story with them is an empowering experience. I’m able to help families to get involved, attend events and even get started with their own One Walk® team or fundraiser — that means so much to me. The impact of JDRF volunteers is immeasurable!  Their encouragement and dedication to supporting families like mine give us hope that there will one day be a cure for T1D.” Stacie Oshima.

“I knew I had to do something. The top reason I continue to ride is because I know that JDRF is using the money that we raise wisely to help researchers, advocate on our behalf and raise awareness around the world. I know we need to continue raising money so that soon my daughter, Hannah, and your loved ones will continue to benefit from new breakthroughs to better manage their disease.  Someday soon, I believe a cure will be our new reality.” – Petra Vester
