Believe it or not NOVEMBER IS NEXT WEEK and that mean’s that National Diabetes Awareness Month will be in full swing!

As most of you may know, November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, a chance for JDRF and all of their supporters to raise funds and spread awareness for type 1 diabetes. There are TONS of opportunities to be involved in Central Pennsylvania for National Diabetes Awareness Month, please read all opportunities below:

• Interview with Peter Rosetti, a traveling JDRF Mentor, for his Diabetes is Beautiful 2016 Nationwide Tour. On Sunday October 30th, Peter will be in Hershey PA working on a project called #thesweetesthugs. This is a free hugs promotion that will hopefully get media attention by proclaiming that diabetics give the sweetest hugs in the ‘sweetest place on earth’. Families are welcome to come out make signs and offer compassion along with a new perceptive on being one with type 1. • The Central Pennsylvania Chapter is currently looking for local T1D’s of all ages to submit their story for a chance to be featured on the JDRF Central PA Facebook Page! Please email your completed JDRF Photo/Video Waiver, photo of yourself and your story to Lauren Wilcox at lwilcox@jdrf.org
