Please join us for a Winter Research Briefing with guest speaker Jonathan Rosen, Ph.D.

Jonathan Rosen, Ph.D., is a scientist in the Research Department at JDRF, where he is part of the Metabolic Control and Artificial Pancreas programs. In Metabolic Control, he manages JDRFā€™s portfolio of projects developing glucose responsive insulins (GRIs), which are next-generation insulins engineered to be active at high blood glucose but inactive at low, mimicking the bodyā€™s natural response to changes in blood sugar. In addition to managing ongoing work involving academic and industry partners, Dr. Rosen is helping develop new and innovative projects and assessing strategy for moving GRIs into clinical trials and beyond. In the Artificial Pancreas program, he supports the development of sophisticated new devices that supplement glucose measurements with additional types of physiological data to better tune insulin administration to the bodyā€™s needs. Dr. Rosen brings his knowledge as a research scientist to help JDRFā€™s mission to treat, prevent andā€”ultimatelyā€”cure type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Rosen did his postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he performed research on the cell biology of skeletal muscle. In his previous work as a graduate student at Harvard Medical School, he studied cardiac and vascular biology.
