JDRF East Tennessee Chapter Year in Review

As we close out 2017, all of us here at JDRF East Tennessee would like to thank our wonderful supporters for another incredible year!

This past spring, more than 1,500 walkers gathered in Chattanooga, Knoxville, and the Tri-Cities and raised over $802,000 for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research!

In March, the Chattanooga community hosted their first annual One Night. The social event featured live music, a silent auction, amazing food and drinks, and great company. Most importantly, it raised over $44,000 for T1D research and was a smashing success!

Just last month, over 350 guests attended 25th Anniversary One Hope Gala, raising over $315,000 for T1D research! The evening’s festivities included a silent and live auction, JDRF’s Fund A Cure program, and a fantastic night of dining and dancing. We were proud to honor the East Tennessee T1D community and to celebrate a quarter century of collaborative efforts and progress towards a cure.

Throughout the year, seven fearless East Tennessee Riders participated in the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes. Collectively, the local team raised over $29,000 and rode hundreds of miles to find a cure for T1D!

In addition to local fundraising efforts, our supporters also worked hard to raise awareness of JDRF and T1D. Our chapter rolled out the new T1D Connections Program and, so far, we’ve had 32 Outreach Volunteers sign up! JDRF Outreach Volunteers are the voices of experience and hope for those facing the challenge of learning to manage their T1D, or those transitioning to a new life stage with T1D.

JDRF Bag of Hope

Because of YOU, JDRF is able to support a broad spectrum of research that will make living with T1D safer and healthier, until a cure is found. We appreciate your passionate leadership and wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday season!

**Please note that JDRF offices will close for Winter Break at 2pm on Friday, December 22nd and reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd.**
