November is National Diabetes Awareness Month

in ,

During November, join us in showing the world what type you are. The JDRF community will be raising awareness about type 1 diabetes (T1D) throughout the month of November for National Diabetes Awareness Month. We’ll kick things off on T1Day, November 1, 2018, by telling our stories to the world. Every minute of every day, people with T1D persevere in the face of adversity. JDRF is committed to making day-to-day life with the disease easier, safer and healthier while working toward ways to cure and prevent T1D once and for all.

On November 1, JDRF is launching a new campaign entitled “I’m the Type” to spread awareness about life with T1D while celebrating the inherent strength and resilience of individuals affected by T1D. Visitors to ImtheType.com are invited to share their personal story, use a variety of campaign social media filters, take actions on behalf of the T1D community, and use the “T1D Footprint Generator” to help others understand the cumulative burden of living with this disease. To highlight the many research and therapy advances, visitors can use the newly launched “T1D Treatment Throughout the Years Timeline” to see what T1D was like in a particular year.

Check back with us on World Diabetes Day, November 14, 2018, and throughout the month for more blogs, stories and ways to share what it means to be affected by T1D.
