Volunteer and Support Group Announcements

Announcing A New Support Group!

JDRF is building our outreach programs to ensure all familis in Georgia have a network of information and support resources. We are thrilled to announce a new group for Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, and Dunwoody! A wonderful Outreach and Hospital Volunteer, Kim Schneller, has agreed to run this group.  She plans to hold meetings at the Panera Bread Company located on Olde Perimeter Way (4531 Olde Perimeter Way, Atlanta, GA 3034). The first meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd at 6:00 PM. Please find additional information on this group on the Facebook page: Perimeter Area T1D Support Group

We Need You!

Do you have a heart for newly diagnosed families and wish to help them during that difficult time? We are looking to train additional JDRF T1D Connections Program Outreach Volunteers throughout Georgia. As an  Outreach Volunteer, you will play the lead role in building relationships with newly diagnosed families/individuals – welcoming, supporting, guiding, and connecting them to the larger T1D community and JDRF. In this role, the volunteer is a supporter, educator, and connector as well as a steward of what will hopefully become a dedicated relationship between the newly diagnosed and JDRF. We especially need volunteers in  Rome, Athens, Columbus, Macon, Valdosta, Augusta, as well as suburbs of Atlanta such as Fayetteville, Cumming, Douglasville, and Lawrenceville! We’re hoping to recruit 100 volunteers to build a  robust Outreach program throughout the State of Georgia. Please contact Teresa Acosta for more information.
