Mary Beth is excited to join the JDRF SC/GA team.  She has been in the nonprofit world most of her professional career.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Sociology and minored in Theatre and Women’s Studies.  From camp directing, sales, and owning a bakery to fundraising and event planning, Mary Beth brings a wealth of knowledge. Prior to joining the JDRF team Mary Beth managed both Peer to Peer Fundraising and corporate donors for The National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association and Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation.  Her passion for finding a cure for T1D came from directing T1D summer camps while working for The American Diabetes Association.  When she’s not fundraising, Mary Beth is either sewing or planning/taking a trip to Disney World.  She and her wife live in Tucker, GA with their 5 cats, one of which is diabetic.

Whitney Amos is excited to join the JDRF GA/SC team! She has been in the nonprofit world most of her professional career with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and psychology from the University of Georgia. Whitney grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where her family still resides. From sales to fundraising, volunteer management, annual giving and event planning, Whitney brings a wealth of knowledge. Prior to joining the JDRF team Whitney managed Annual and Leadership Giving programs at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School and the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. Whitney is an avid traveler, fan of the Chicago Cubs & Georgia Bulldogs, reader, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She lives in Atlanta, GA with her puppy, Winnie.

Nicole Schroeder

Hi! I’m Nicole, the new Development Manager working on Hope Gala, Rock the Cure, and the Georgia Chapter youth ambassador program. I first became involved with JDRF when my brother was diagnosed with T1D in 2017 and I was a JDRF intern in college. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland with a MA Honors in Politics and International Relations. I am very excited to begin my career with an organization that means so much to me personally. It has been a joy getting to know the JDRF Georgia and South Carolina communities this spring. Kelly Alladina

Development Manager Community Engagement / Ride, Georgia

Kelly graduated from Emory’s School of Nursing in 2011 and began her nursing career at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on the GI/Endocrine floor, the very same place where she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 11.  In 2014, Kelly began working as a diabetes nurse educator at Children’s, and obtained her Certification as a Diabetes Educator in 2016. During her time as an educator, Kelly enjoyed training newly diagnosed families, working with schools and daycares to provide training, and being the team’s community liaison. In 2019, Kelly won the “Nurse of the Year” award in the pediatric category from the March of Dimes.  From 2019-2021, Kelly stepped into school nursing, where she loved building long-term relationships with her students. Kelly is now very excited to join the team at JDRF; she hopes that her own type one diagnosis, along with her background in healthcare and volunteer experience with the organization, will be valuable assets to the GA/SC JDRF chapter!

Courtney Lorah

Courtney Lorah is thrilled to join the staff of the JDRF SC/GA Chapter as a part-time development manager. Born and raised in Charleston, Courtney graduated from Charleston Southern University where she majored in Elementary Education. After leaving public school instruction, she began working in the non-profit sector as a grant writer for an education-based 501c3 organization. She got her real estate license in 2017, and has been practicing residential real estate ever since. Courtney has 2 children, Leighton (12) and Gideon (7). JDRF is so important to Courtney and her family because her son Gideon was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on January 1 of this year. Gideon was a recipient of a Bag of Hope, Courtney and her husband utilized JDRF informational resources to navigate the diagnosis as caretakers, and the entire family attended the Together Again gala. She whole-heartedly believes that a cure is within reach, and will champion JDRF through development to find it!

Hi, I’m Hannah! I am so excited to join the JDRF team from Greenville! I am very passionate about the diabetes community and I’ve been involved with JDRF since my own T1D diagnosis at age 8. As I get ready to graduate from Clemson University, I am so excited to be starting my career with this organization that is so close to my heart. I dream of a world without type 1 diabetes & I can’t wait to make it happen!
