35 Faces of the JDRF One Walk: Meet The Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School Walk Team

35 Faces, 35 years of Walking, 35 Reasons to Give

Since 2005, the Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) has been participating in the JDRF One Walk. Kaki Bennett, who is now a JDRF One Party honoree, was their first team captain. To date, HIES has raised over $480,000 for T1D research! Each year, HIES rotates who the team captain will be. Reed Stewart and Matthew Christensen, who are seniors, are leading the team this year. Every T1D student holds their own fundraising letter campaign and participates in fundraisers at school. HIES’ biggest fundraiser is their out of uniform day! Students can donate $4 to dress down and not wear their uniform to school. This is always a big hit with the students! Each year, the team captains create a new team t-shirt. The theme this year, created by Reed, is “HIES runs on insulin.” JDRF is thankful for HIES’ continued support each year. We are looking forward to seeing their team next weekend at the JDRF One Walk.

Please consider supporting HIES’ fundraising efforts by donating to their JDRF One Walk team here
