2018 Gala Youth Ambassadors

JDRF is now accepting applications for 2018 Hope Gala Youth Ambassadors! On April 14, 2018, the 19th Annual JDRF Hope Gala will move us $1 million closer to a cure but we need your help! Apply as an Ambassador and help to really make a difference. Ambassadors help to fundraise and share JDRF’s mission at the Gala. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, selling raffle tickets, greeting guests as they enter the ballroom, helping with Live Auction and participation in Fund A Cure.

To apply, review the qualifications below and complete the application here.

All applications, along with a current report card and photograph (less than 5mb) must be submitted to JDRF (by mail, email or fax) before 5:00p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

Ten (10) Ambassadors will be selected by a volunteer review committee and announced on Friday, January 19, 2018.

Please note that previously being a Youth Ambassador does not guarantee selection. Last year, the volunteer committee took a variety of factors into making their decision…boys, girls, age range, newly diagnosed, experienced, etc. If not selected, we have a variety of additional ambassador opportunities throughout the year with Ride, Walk, Sneaker Sales and much more!

Qualifications for our Youth Ambassadors:

  • Have type 1 diabetes (T1D) and a positive outlook!
  • Between the ages of 4 and 18 years old (as of 4.14.18)
  • Attend the JDRF Hope Gala on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The event dress code is formal attire.
  • Attend the Hope Gala photo shoot on Sunday, January 28th, 10:00 a.m. at Ballpark Village. Transportation will not be provided by JDRF.
  • Commit to raising at least $500 for Fund A Cure.
  • Donate item(s) for the Honorary Ambassador Silent Auction Packages valued at $100 or more (information to follow upon selection)

  • Be willing to speak in front of a large audience and/or media outlets.
  • Be willing to speak openly about T1D, your diagnosis and involvement with JDRF
