On Thursday, June 20, 2019, our South Jersey Chapter hosting our annual chapter meeting and research update reception at Woodcrest Country Club.

It has been a wonderful year and we couldn’t have done it without you.  We hit a 10-year fundraising high. We significantly advanced research in many key areas. We helped win FDA approval for technology that helps our community live healthier lives. And we advocated for and drove greater access to better T1D medical care and coverage.

Highlights of the evening included our research update by our Keynote Speaker, Bonnie O’Neil. Bonnie shared information on JDRF’s key research program areas. Bonnie is a member of the JDRF International Speakers Bureau, Mom and Sister of a T1D, Board Member and Leadership Giving Chair for the JDRF Eastern PA Chapter.

A heartfelt thank you to this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Tom Deeney. In addition to being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, Tom was also recognized for his visionary guidance and unwavering leadership as the Chapter’s Board President. During the evening’s program, Tom passed the baton to our incoming Board President, Michael Block.

Also, the chapter recognized and thanked Fred Sacks, JDRF Board of Chancellors member for his many years of support serving on JDRF’s National Grass Roots Leadership Team.
