The JDRF Greater Iowa Chapter is excited to announce that the application for our 2019-2020 Youth Ambassador Program is now available!

Our Youth Ambassador Program is a program for 5-18 year olds with type 1 diabetes (T1D) that are willing to share their story and experience for others to gain a better understanding of the disease and its complications. The goal of this program is to share with our community firsthand why we fundraise for a cure.

Chosen Ambassadors will begin their responsibilities on June 1, 2019 and end December 31, 2020. Responsibilities and their respective dates are outlined on the application. These responsibilities include helping steward corporate partners, participating in our One Walk, acting as a Ride Ambassador for our Greater Iowa Team Riders, providing a silent auction basket for our Gala, and participating in the Ambassador Photoshoot.

This program is a great opportunity for more involvement within JDRF, will look great on a college application, provide service hours, give experience for Children’s Congress, and will help our community better understand T1D.

• Applications are due May 15, 2019 and Ambassadors will be announced on May 20, 2019.
• Term will run from June 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020.
• Past Youth Ambassadors are welcome to reapply.
• Application must be turned in completely for consideration.
