JDRF ONE WALK UPDATE

The JDRF One Walk is a community celebration for those living with T1D and the research advancements we’ve all worked together to achieve. More than ever, the JDRF One Walk isn’t just about walking—it’s about being a community and our commitment to finding cures for T1D.

Thank you for your patience as we work to reimagine our 2020 Walk season in Boston, Central Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Unfortunately, a traditional Walk Day is not possible this year due to the size of our Walks and the importance of keeping our community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are excited to share that all the JDRF Greater New England Chapter Walks will now be taking place on Sunday, November 1, VIRTUALLY! On this day, we will bring together JDRF walkers from all over the country to celebrate what makes the JDRF One Walk so special.  There will still be a local component featuring our teams, stories, and accomplishments—stay tuned for more information!

Nationally, our goal will be to collectively walk 1.6 million miles in honor of the 1.6 million people living with T1D and collectively raise $50 million by November 1, 2020 to recognize 50 years of progress and impact.

New this year! The JDRF One Walk website will be updated to reflect both our local fundraising goals and our national fundraising goal. In addition, teams can now set a mileage goal and view their progress using Strava, a service that tracks human exercise—get ready to challenge your teammates!

Despite not being in person this year, we are excited to share this year’s recognition opportunities and incentives with you! Be sure you don’t miss out on all the fun—check out everything now!

We recognize that this year has been full of constant changes and challenges. But, if there is a community that can show the world that they are truly #strongertogether, it’s the JDRF One Walk family. We hope you will still join us this year by registering for your local Walk at walk.jdrf.org.

If you have any questions about our Walk plans this year, please reach out to greaternewengland@jdrf.org.
