During National Volunteer Week, we recognize our 2022 volunteer award recipients. These are JDRF volunteer partners who embody what it means to be a T1D Changemaker—an individual who affects positive change for members of the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. We are proud to honor Jaleen Siekman for her noteworthy contributions as Gala Chair, leading the charge back to the ballroom after two virtual years, managing a very active and large Gala Committee, as well as contributing to the Corporate Development Committee. As Advocacy Team Chair (ATC), she has rallied the ATCs from each Greater New England state, bringing forward the idea for a Meet the ATCs event that brought the chapter and advocacy efforts closer together. Through all of this Jaleen continues to remain very active on the Community Engagement Committee, as the founder of the Chats from Home program, member of the School Health Team subcommittee, and an Outreach Volunteer. Her passion is making life easier for all who are living with or connected to T1D. Jaleen is a connector who works tirelessly across all Greater New England Chapter programs. Staff and volunteers, both recognize and applaud her energy and efforts as she motives others to lean in and help where they can. Jaleen, you are an invaluable member of the JDRF family and our community.

Thank you for being a T1D Changemaker by lending your time and talent to bring us closer to our goal of curing T1D!
