Meet Your Fund A Cure Speakers for the 12th Annual JDRF Golf Classic

Golf is a game of highs and lows. It takes mental toughness and tremendous discipline to overcome the frustration of a less than successful hole. But for 17-year-old Emma Murphy, a competitive golfer and aspiring actress, the game of golf is easy compared to the highs and lows of living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Emma was diagnosed with T1D before the age of 2 years old, so she has spent her lifetime learning how to thrive despite the 24/7 management of this autoimmune disease.

On September 9, Emma and her dad, Steve, will share their story at the 12th Annual JDRF Golf Classic. They will bring to light what it feels like to sit in the emergency room with your little girl and to monitor the consistently inconsistent nature of T1D. Their hope is to inspire the room to raise their bid cards and contribute much needed funds to support the vital mission of JDRF: to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.

You can join the Murphys and all the families affected by T1D in the collective goal to turn type one into type none by making a Fund A Cure donation today! 100% of Fund A Cure donations will drive research toward JDRF therapies and other critical research priorities. It will take MANY AGAINST 1 to achieve a world without T1D. Please join us in making a difference in our T1D community: Donate to Fund A Cure
