Back to school time is here, and with that comes sports, class parties, and other fun fall activities.Ā  One of the highlights of the fall calendar is the 8th Annual ConnecT1D Family Camp, and we hope you’ll sign up today to be part of the fun.

This one-of-a-kind weekend event is filled with friends, family, and of course –Ā  FUN!Ā  The agenda will cover topics from school to sports to burnout. There will be fun kids’ activities as well as family activities such as mini-golf, a hike to the beach, arts and crafts, and more.Ā  The weekend also provides the opportunity to meet and bond with other families who know and understand the challenges and successes of parenting a child with Type 1 Diabetes.

FULL AND PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!

Full fare for Family Camp is $300 per adult, $200 per child in grades 3-12, and $125 for children ages 0-2.Ā  Full and partial (“subsidized”)Ā scholarships are available through generous donor and grant support.Ā  A $50 registration feeĀ  per family (counted as part of the overall fare and not an additionalĀ fee) is due at the time of registration.

No one will be turned away for financial reasons.Ā  PleaseĀ registerĀ today and secure your spot for Family Camp. Contact programs@connecT1D.org with questions.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEALS

Family Camp accommodations are lodge-style housing with at least one full/queen size bed per room, as well as bunk beds. Each familyĀ will have their own separate room(s).

Meals will be family style in a dining hall, and carbohydrate counts will be provided for all meals.Ā  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided on Saturday and breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sunday.Ā The entire weekend is gluten free to accommodate our celiac families.

 

Calling all Volunteers!Ā 

The ConnecT1D Family Camp is a community experience at heart.Ā And, in the spirit of community, Family Camp is only possible because of amazing volunteers who help in so many different ways.

There are currently openings for volunteer Counselors, Medical Staff and Event Helpers. Counselors and Medical Staff will supervise kids’ activities and support group activities, while Event Helpers will support check-in/out, educational sessions, and other administrative tasks as needed.Ā  Put your talents to work in support of Family Camp and know that you’ve made a difference in the lives of many families impacted by T1D.
