Mindfulness & Type One Diabetes- Virtual Video Series

April 7, 2020, WA
6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This video series lecture, conversation, and workshop-experiment will shed light on what exactly “Mindfulness” is, and more importantly, what it can be to those of us with Type One Diabetes and our loved ones. Please note that this will now be an online video series shared out periodically throughout April and May instead of an in person event. We are happy to be able to bring Sam’s insights and knowledge to the community at this time. Videos will be shared out via the email provided in the registration. We will also look to host an in-person event with Sam in the future. If you have any questions please email Karis at ktsolomitis@jdrf.org or call 206-708-2240.

This evening lecture, conversation, and workshop-experiment will shed light on what exactly “Mindfulness” is, and more importantly, what it can be to those of us with Type One Diabetes and our loved ones. We will spend our two hours first learning a little bit about the topic, then openly discussing amongst ourselves how it relates to us, and finally actually dipping our toes into it.

The evening will be steered by Sam Tullman, a Zen practitioner and mindfulness teacher with a neuroscience background who has been living with Type One Diabetes since age 8. It will draw on his experience as a practitioner, the latest research in meditation’s effects on the brain and body, and above all else, your expertise drawing from your life thus far with Type One Diabetes.

To confirm your attendance, please register online.
