Thank you thank you thank you Advocates! All those emails and phone calls to Congress paid off. The Special Diabetes Program has finally been fully funded for two years at $150 million per year! It was included in the Budget Bill passed on Feb. 9, 2018. The program will expire on Sept. 20, 2019 (which will come waaaaay to soon). This funding is dedicated to Type 1 diabete research administered through the National Institutes of Health.

The entire Houston-area Congressional delegation, and our two Senators, voted for the bill (I like to think it was because we were in there). So if you see or talk to your Congressman, say thank you.
