BUNGALOW HEIGHTS: 1st Anniversary Celebration

Bungalow Heights celebrated their first anniversary with great food and drinks, DJ, live music, face painting and more. Proceeds from “Dunk the Staff” and a portion of keto cookie sales from Kai’s Kookies generously went to JDRF. Bella Harris, T1D, of the Bungalow Heights Family, welcomed patrons to the celebration and performed “Baby Shark” with her sister. Thank you to Bungalow Heights, the Harris family, and General Manager Stephanie Coulter for including JDRF in this milestone.

YLC: 1st Annual Brew For A Cure Event

Congratulations and thank you to our Young Leadership Committee (YLC) for raising over $10,000 to go toward T1D research. With support from Porch Swing Pub (venue hosts), Eureka Heights, Ziegenbock, donors, and patrons to a casual day of beer, food, live music, raffle prizes, and silent auction – a fun time was had by all.

GRAND LAKES GATORS: Annual Swim-A-Thon

The Grand Lakes Gators Swim Team in Katy held their annual Swim-A-Thon, benefiting JDRF for the third year in a row. Boasting a membership of over 240 swimmers, each secured pledges for laps swam, and different age groups swam for either 15 or 30 minutes to music and coaches/spectators cheering them on. We had a guest appearance from the Schnellhardts – Nora came out to swim for her brother, Grayson and created her own JDRF Your Way Fundraiser for her pledges: “Type 1 Diabetes can eat My bubbles!” Each heat ended with a motivational and celebratory speech from Head Coach Evan, popsicles, diving board fun, and a coaches’ floatie race. The girl and boy from each group who swam the most laps also received a special appreciation prize from JDRF, like Mia and Easton below. A very special thank you to Diana Bowdery for so seamlessly coordinating this event and son – Coach Daniel, T1D, for leading and educating such a great team. Shout out also to the other incredible coaches: Sarah, Josh, Richard, Becca, Ella and Jacobey. Go Gators!
