Brian is a Partner at Kirkland & Ellis, where he’s practiced since 2008, and an adjunct professor at Washington University in St. Louis, where he teaches courses on private equity and entrepreneurship through acquisition. Brian also serves on the executive board of the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic, a leading provider of legal services to local underserved communities.  Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Decision Sciences from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a JD from Washington University School of Law.   

Emilee recently returned to teaching after taking a hiatus to raise their four children. She is currently teaching preschool at Winnetka Public School Nursery. She is also a member of the Board of Governors at the Winnetka Community House. Emilee received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University and her Early Childhood Endorsement from National Louis University.  

Brian and Emilee have four children, Caroline (16), Sam (age 14-T1D), Evan (age 11), and Alex (age 9). The Wolfe family resides in Winnetka, Illinois.  

Glen Tullman

Fundraising Chair

Glen Tullman is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Transcarent, the first comprehensive, consumer-directed health and care platform for employees of self-insured employers and their families. Born in Silicon Valley, Transcarent’s platform empowers consumers with the kind of information, guidance and access that leads to better care, better outcomes, and more cost-effective decisions for everyone.

Tullman is the former Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of Livongo Health, the first at-scale consumer digital health company to truly empower people with chronic conditions to live better and healthier lives using data science.

In his final year, he led Livongo through the largest consumer digital health Initial Public Offering in history, a secondary offering, a convertible debt offering that raised over $550 million, and the industry’s largest merger to date between Livongo and Teladoc Health, valuing Livongo at $18.5 billion and beginning a new era of consumer centric virtual care.

A visionary leader and entrepreneur, Tullman previously ran two other public companies that changed the way health care is delivered. During his time as Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts, the Company was the leading provider of electronic prescribing, practice management, and electronic health records. Glen led Allscripts IPO and Secondary offerings. Prior to Allscripts, he was Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Systems, the leading resource management systems for hospitals, which he also took public and then sold to McKesson/HBOC. Before entering healthcare, Tullman served as President and COO of CCC Information Systems, a provider of computerized systems for the property and casualty insurance sector.

Tullman is also one of two Founding Partners at 7wireVentures, one of the highest returning venture capital funds in Illinois. He is the author of On Our Terms: Empowering the New Health Consumer, in which he proposes new solutions to address the chronic-condition epidemic facing our country.

Glen is dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and other chronic conditions—and to keeping people healthy until cures are found. A strong proponent of philanthropy, he was honored in 2019 with a Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award for his career focused on improving the safety, empathy, and efficiency of our healthcare system. He also serves as a Chancellor to the International Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and as a Board Member and the incoming Chairperson of the American Diabetes Association. Tullman has three amazing children that inspire him every day.

Kayne & Alicea Grau

Event Chairs

Kayne and Alicea Grau are Glenview residents with their children, Liam (16), Luke (15), and Ella (13). Luke was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 13, and the family was introduced to JDRF through a friend’s generous donation to the local Chicago chapter in honor of Luke. Six months later, Kayne became a JDRF board member and serves on the Executive Council as the Leadership Giving Chair. More recently, he and his wife, Alicea, were asked to co-chair the upcoming gala on December 9^th.

Kayne has spent over 15 years in the Chicagoland area working in senior executive roles for Allstate, Cars.com, Apartment.com, DRIVIN (as CEO & co-founder), and Uptake. Today, he serves as CEO and Board Member for CarNow, the market leader in automotive digital retail. In addition to JDRF, he’s an active angel investor in various startups, serves on multiple boards, and is an active advisory board member to reduce violence in Chicago’s inner-city neighborhoods through the work of Project H.O.O.D. Additionally, Alicea is active within the Glenview schools and various JDRF fund-raising efforts.

Although the Grau’s are relatively new members of JDRF, they are committed to bringing greater awareness and education to the local community. As co-chairs of the upcoming One Dream Gala, they are excited to work with volunteers, board members, and gala leadership to ensure the forthcoming event is wildly successful.

Chris Scoggins

Corporate Chair

Chris Scoggins has been with Abbott since 2003 and a Corporate officer since 2015.  As of July 2021, he is Abbott’s Vice President, Global Commercial Operations over Abbott’s Diabetes Care Division located in Alameda, CA.  Prior to his current role, he led the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division since April, 2019.

Chris also spent time at Abbott Diabetes care since 2009 in Alameda twice, once in his current role and once leading Global Strategic Marketing.   He also spent three and one-half years in Germany with commercial operations responsibility for the Europe, Middle East & Africa Region launching of FreeStyle Libre across Europe.

Prior to his role at Abbott Diabetes Care, Chris was at Abbott Nutrition Products Division for six and one-half years where he served as Division Vice President of US Hospital Sales for Adult Nutrition Products following serving as DVP over US Marketing for Adult Nutrition Brands.

Prior to Abbott, Chris worked at a Johnson & Johnson for ten years in a variety of marketing positions with increasing responsibility in Consumer Products, Pharmaceutical, OTC Drug and Nutrition Businesses in the US, Mexico and Portugal.

Chris earned his IMBA from the University of South Carolina at Columbia and earned his BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

He currently resides in Oakland, CA with his wife and high-school age son, while his two adult age children attend university in California.  He spends the weekends with his family and loves sailing in the San Francisco Bay.
