Join other individuals, families and caregivers affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) at all life stages for a day of education and connection at the TypeOneNation Summit in Indianapolis on May 13. You’ll have a chance to talk to experts about research advances, meet with other attendees to exchange ideas, and participate in discussions important to you.
Stick around in the afternoon and learn tips to get in the game – or ramp up your existing game – through the JDRF Performance in Exercise and Knowledge (PEAK) program. This unique initiative will help you better understand the benefits and challenges of exercise while managing diet and blood glucose. Upon completion of the PEAK program, patients with T1D who exercise or wish to exercise, and their caregivers. will be able to:
o Understand the environmental, dietary, physiological and psychosocial elements that impact physical activity in people with T1D,
o Feel confident to make changes to existing T1D and exercise treatment plans, and
o Improve BG readings while exercising in the future.
